Simon is only 12 years old, but he must grow up quickly. He lives with his older sister who is unemployed and spends most of her time away from home, leaving Simon to take care of himself. To support himself, he steals ski equipment from the nearby ski resort and resells it. His sister encourages his lifestyle of stealing because she often borrows money from him, so when Simon refuses to continue supporting her financially, the atmosphere between them becomes very tense. This naturalistic drama by Ursula Maier is a social exploration of a role reversal in a collapsed family.
