Sweden in the 1970s was a time of liberalization and the sexual revolution, but also a period of tension caused by the cold war and the nuclear threat. This film, loosely based on actual events, follows the fate of two underaged girls who are seduced into a world of wild parties and white slavery. The brothel Madam introduces them to clients in high social circles, and soon they become a sought-after commodity for decadent soirées. Eventually, these professional female companions become the key to a political scandal that leads to the highest levels of government. This cold political thriller brilliantly evokes the atmosphere and the pervasive feeling of spying and distrust in the 1970s. Call Girl won the FIPRESCI Prize at the Toronto IFF and the Audience Award at the Stockholm IFF.

Awards: Guldbagge Awards 2013: Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Sound; IFF Toronto 2012: 2x FIPRESCI Award (for the film and for the director)
